About Me
I grew up in Tipp City, OH, and graduated from Tippecanoe High School in 2019. I began playing clarinet and guitar at the age of 10 and fell in love with music. By the time I was 14, I had decided that I wanted to be a music teacher when I grew up. I continued my education and musical career at Ohio University where I graduated with my Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education in May of 2023. During my time at Ohio University, I was a member of the Marching 110, symphonic bands, Tau Beta Sigma, and NAfME.

Student Teaching
I completed my Student Teaching at Nelsonville-York Elementary School with my incredible mentor teacher, Ms. Alison Smart. During my time at Nelsonville, I taught preschool through 5th-grade students a variety of different concepts and guided them through many different activities in their General Music classroom. I got to know and love over 500 students during my 5 month internship and I will forever be grateful to have been placed at such an amazing school.

Teaching Philosophy and Career Goals
I believe that music education creates well-rounded individuals by fostering creativity, responsibility, teamwork skills, and so much more. My goal as a music educator is to create a safe, judgment-free, and supportive environment where my students can learn and explore music through play. It is my top priority to create social-emotional learning-based lessons that accommodate all of my student's learning needs. I also want to base my lessons on what my students are interested in and take their perspectives into consideration.
A few I plan to implement in my classroom...
